About MVF: Movertical Farm
Vision
To relegate global food security issues to the dustbin of history!
Mission
To provide sustainable systems of industrial-scale agricultural production to help communities become self-sufficient in their food supply needs
Continuous Innovation
Incepted in 2007 and under continuous R&D since 2011, MVF is an aquaponics system packaged into standard shipping containers.
Mobility & Scalability
Farms can be practically anywhere and easily made larger or smaller as needed
Maximum Productivity
Farms are free from resource limitations, contamination, and climate constraints
Flexibility & Versatility
Farming was back-breaking work, but working our farm can be done comfortably via digital devices
Long-term Sustainability
Low-energy consumption, closed-loop system makes MVF economically and environmentally sustainable
The Challenges of Traditional Farming
Agriculture is one of humanity’s first instance of mass production and the most vital of all production, providing for the basic necessities of life and fulfilling the lowest levels of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
Agriculture is however restricted by climate and geography, which in turn fuels rivalries and conflicts between people from villages to nations.
Climate change and mutually-assured destruction by nuclear weapons present the two greatest challenges to humanity’s survival in the 21st Century. Ergo, the survival and prosperity of humanity requires agricultural solutions and policies to bring equality and equity.
MVF products and services bring equal opportunities in agriculture independent of climate and geography. In tandem with government policies, MVF solutions bring equitability to communities worldwide to survive and thrive in the 21st Century.
Introducing Mobile+Vertical Farming
Retired shipping containers retain structural integrity for decades or centuries after losing their sea-worthy certifications and thus provide a cost-effective yet reliable modular structure for agricultural production units.
Shipping containers are easy to transport: pack up and leave within a week or less!
Modular design allows a farm to quickly and easily scale up or down, as well as change configurations to optimize production and minimize waste to become as closed-loop as possible.
Highly-efficient use of energy for ecosystem controls, thus no requirement for large energy sources (like constant connection to electric grid) and no need for energy storage (like batteries)
Energy generation from closed-loop raw materials (i.e. water into hydrogen) and from renewable energy sources (i.e. solar and wind)
Case Studies
Although invented in Hong Kong, MVF has garnered interest in adoption worldwide. Below are three representative cases.
